Design Disruption

Disrupt the narrative. Find your Superpower.

Project Details

Design Disruption is a visual and conceptual project dedicated to reframing how we view ADHD. Too often seen as a limitation, ADHD is actually a unique way of thinking that, when understood and embraced, can become a superpower. This project flips the negative narrative and celebrates the creative potential that comes with neurodiversity.

Personal Connection

As someone who has lived with ADHD my entire life, this project is deeply personal. Throughout the five months of developing it (and continuing to refine it), I’ve done extensive research and self-reflection. I’ve gained a clearer understanding of how my brain works and how creativity is often a central, though underrecognized, part of the ADHD experience. This project is here to say: we matter and we bring something powerful to the table.

The Intent

The design choices in this project are intentional and symbolic. Color plays a central role in representing the experience of ADHD:

  • Yellow serves as a purposeful distraction to simulate what it’s like for people with ADHD to stay focused, especially when external stimuli constantly pull attention away.

  • Light salmon and orange-red hues represent creativity, energy, and transformation. These tones are meant to grab the viewer’s attention and evoke curiosity, mirroring the magnetic pull of hyperfocus and creative flow.

  • Together, the colors help communicate the emotional and cognitive landscape of living with ADHD, chaotic at times, but also vibrant and full of potential.

Impact & Purpose

Design Disruption isn’t just about storytelling—it’s about empowerment. It’s here to help others with ADHD feel seen, supported, and understood. It’s a visual reminder that the way our minds work is valid and valuable. If even one person walks away from this project feeling less alone, then it’s done its job.
