Project Details<\/h2>\n

This black-and-white self-portrait project was a personal project born out of a desire to explore capturing emotion and identity. I used photography as a way to process and express what I was feeling at the time, capturing moments of joy, loneliness, playfulness, and connection. What started as an experiment quickly became a visual journal, with each image reflecting a different emotional layer of my life.<\/p>\n

Creative Motivation<\/h4>\n

I had never seriously worked in black and white before, so this project was also a technical challenge for me. Stripping away color helped me focus on tone, texture, and expression, allowing the mood of each photo to speak more clearly. Whether I was capturing quiet solitude or candid time spent with loved ones, the monochrome palette brought a certain honesty to the images that color might have softened.<\/p>\n

Emotional Range<\/h4>\n

Some portraits are lighthearted and playful, showing me at ease or being silly; others lean into feelings of isolation or quiet reflection. I didn\u2019t try to stage or perfect these moods, instead, I gave myself space to simply show up and document whatever came through. In doing so, the project became both an emotional outlet and a creative risk, offering a more raw and unfiltered side of my work.<\/p>\n
