MXA Fashion Magazine is a self-initiated editorial piece that brings together my three creative passions: photography, fashion, and graphic design. What started as a visual showcase for a previous photography project quickly evolved into a full-fledged magazine, featuring self-portraits, original editorial content, and a thoughtful approach to fashion.<\/p>\n

Gender-Inclusive Vision<\/h4>\n

While studying major fashion magazines for inspiration, I noticed a strong divide in gender targeting, most catered specifically to either men or women. I wanted to create something different. MXA is designed to feel comfortable and appealing to all genders, with layout, tone, imagery, and even advertisements reflecting that intention. Later in the process, I introduced fictional ads and sponsorship placements to further ground the magazine in reality, making it feel like a piece you’d find on a shelf or in a waiting room.<\/p>\n

MXA Fashion Magazine is more than a design piece, it\u2019s a personal milestone. It reflects growth in writing, experimentation in design, and a fresh, inclusive take on fashion editorial. It\u2019s playful, thoughtful, and most importantly, authentically me.<\/p>\n

The Challenge<\/h4>\n

One of the biggest personal hurdles I took on with this project was writing all of the articles and conducting the research myself. Writing has never been my strongest skill, but I knew it was something I wanted to improve. By pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, I gained valuable experience in content development and walked away with a finished piece I\u2019m proud of.<\/p>\n

The Lilac Version<\/h2>\n

The magazine went through several iterations, especially in terms of color. After a deep dive into color theory and emotional tone, I landed on a shade I called \u201cLiving Lilac.\u201d<\/strong> This soft, modern purple symbolizes youthfulness and calm energy, helping to visually tie together the magazine\u2019s balanced and forward-thinking identity.<\/p>\n

Beyond color, I got experimental in Photoshop, using layering techniques, masks, and textured overlays to give the visuals more depth and personality. These explorations helped give the magazine a rich, editorial feel that mirrors high-fashion publications, but with a personal and artistic edge. This blend of tactile texture and digital experimentation became a signature visual thread throughout the project.<\/p>\n
